Beat the Odds in the DV Lottery!

Those of you that are looking to immigrate to America and get in on the Green Card Lottery may be surprised to discover the overwhelming number of individuals that attempt to immigrate every year. In fact, well over five million individuals are looking to come to America and obtain their green card. Why? The plain and simple truth is that America has so much to offer in the way of opportunities. Yet, of the five million plus people that try to get into America legally, only a little over 2 percent of the people that try to get into America become eligible to participate in the Green Card Lottery, also known as the DV Lottery.

Many individuals dream about coming to America, finding work, and establishing a life of independence. Yet, in order to obtain the American dream, they are going to have to work through a lot of red tape. What’s worse is that many honest, hardworking people, looking to get into the United States via honest, US immigration practices never even get an opportunity to enter into the DV Lottery. The primary problems that arise include improper documentation, unacceptable photographic submissions, and/or a complete and utter failure to meet the demands set forth by the United States Department of State. Even worse are situations that involve an individual being declined because of the country in which they were born: some people cannot enter into the Visa Lottery simply because they originate from a country that has been barred from participation.

To conquer such issues, it is imperative to ensure that you are qualified to participate. You may be surprised to realize what areas of the world are banned from participating in the DV lottery. The list of countries that are not allowed to participate changes from year to year, but countries that have been on the banned list for many years include Canada, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. People born in any of these regions are usually ineligible to participate in the DV Lottery. (Remember to obtain the latest list of qualified countries to check what regions are currently eligible for the Green Card Lottery.)

Exceptions to the country of origin requirement do exist! If a lottery applicant’s spouse (husband or wife) or parent (mother or father), or spouse’s parent was born in any of the qualified countries, then the applicant can claim that qualified country in order to participate in the Green Card Lottery.

So apart from satisfying the country of origin requirement, what else does it take to qualify? How can one take advantage of the Green Card Lottery opportunity? First, as already described, an individual must have been born in a region that is eligible (or at least be able to claim a country that is eligible). Second, in terms of one’s education, one must have completed high school or one must have earned the equivalent of a high school education. Completion of a secondary school education is generally sufficient, but if the applicant did not complete this, he/she can still qualify to participate in the DV Lottery with a minimum of 2 years of work experience and this experience must have occurred within the last 5 years. Essentially, while there are a number of requirements to meet before one is eligible to participate, if the requirements are met, the individual is one step closer to entry in the DV Lottery and to obtaining a United States visa.

Want to make sure your entire application is correct, accurate, and acceptable? Use the services offered by USA Green Card. Your application is too important. USA Green Card will help you complete your application and assess your submission photo(s). Don’t lose out on your chance to come to America. USA Green Card can help you! You can apply to the Green Card Lottery right now!

DV Lottery Terminology

The Green Card Lottery is one way to get into America, the great land of dreams and opportunities. Yet, if you are going to take advantage of any DV Lottery chance, you are going to need to understand the process and how Visa Lottery opportunities work. For that matter, before you can begin to understand the Green Card Lottery process, you are going to need to familiarize yourself with the most common DV Lottery terminology in use. Understanding the jargon associated with DV Lottery and the green card application process is part and parcel of winning at the Visa Lottery game.

When it comes to US Immigration, undoubtedly there are many regulations that you must address. Certain regulations are enforced, especially with the DV Lottery. Why are there so many regulations? The plain and simple truth is that thousands upon thousands of people apply each year: more applications than US immigration can address or fulfill. Thus, when it comes to the Visa Lottery, the applications are weeded out and the chances for the Visa Lottery are given to select individuals. Thus, knowing how the process works and understanding all of the regulations will bring you closer to your goal: successful US immigration.

So, what exactly is the Green Card Lottery? The Green Card Lottery is also commonly referred to as the DV Lottery or the Diversity Visa Lottery. Other common terms are Immigration Lottery and Visa Lottery. These are all the same program. Each year the US immigration department (US Citizenship and Immigration Service, or USCIS) allows for a pre-established number of individuals to get into the United States via the lottery process. The number of opportunities is limited and many people try to get through US immigration via the lottery process unsuccessfully. However, if successful, the lucky participant will get into the United States and be given a green card.

What is a green card? The green card is a US visa given to immigrants by the US immigration department. Essentially, the green card gives the individual permission to live in the USA, remain in the country, and work. Later, if the individual wants, they can apply for US citizenship via the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).

The Visa Lottery also allows for an individual to enter the United States. There are two different types of visas: immigration and non-immigration visas. The difference between the two visas is clear: the individual with a nonimmigrant visa does not intend to live in the United States permanently, meanwhile, the immigrant visa allows for a person that wants to live in America to enter and live permanently in the country. Essentially, the only way to get into America legally is for an individual to meet certain predefined regulations and to have the proper documentation provided by the US immigration department. One effective way to get a green card or visa is via the Visa Lottery process.

There are, of course ways to improve one’s chances at getting in on the Green Card Lottery opportunity. First, one should make sure that they come from an eligible region that is allowed to participate in the lottery. Next, the individual should meet all educational and/or work requirements. Also, a finely tuned application and a good photo submission can increase the chances one has on getting into the Visa Lottery. Let USA Green Card help you prepare a perfect application. USA Green Card understands US immigration requirements and is ready and willing to assist you with your application needs.

Green Card Lottery Changes and How They Affect You

Currently, the US Department of Immigration allows for some 50,000 applications to be processed for the yearly DV Lottery. This is just a small number of all the applications they receive every year. Did you know that there are going to be some big changes next year? What’s happening that will change the DV Lottery in the year 2008? Big changes: changes that could affect your chances of being able to get in on Green Card Lottery opportunities.

Anyone that has ever previously applied for a chance in the Visa Lottery will tell you that it’s not necessarily an easy process. A number of different regions around the world are currently disqualified from participating in the Visa Lottery. Why are certain areas of the world stopping people from participating? First off, if a country has immigrated more than 50,000 people to America within the last 5-year period, then people from that country are banned from participating in the USA Visa Lottery. What does that mean for those interested in getting in on the Green Card Lottery in 2008? If they live in a country that has sent a large number of immigrants to the US, they may very well end up ineligible.

The US immigration department offers a lengthy list of regional exclusions and in 2008. Every year, countries are added and removed from the list of qualified countries. Essentially, getting in on the visa lottery is getting tougher all of the time. Yet, there are some “loop-holes” to the ineligibility problem. First, if an individual is married to someone that is native to a country deemed eligible to participate then they still may be able to take advantage of the DV Lottery opportunity. This “loop-hole” extends to the parents of the applicant as well. In other words, if an individual lives in a disqualifying country but their parents are from an area that is still qualified to participate then, again, the individual interested in applying may qualify for DV Lottery participation. If the applicant is married, his/her spouse can also go through this checklist to see if the spouse can qualify to participate in the Green Card Lottery.

Interestingly, despite the strict regulations surrounding eligibility, the far bigger problem any person must face when it comes to the Green Card Lottery is the fact that the application must conform perfectly to strict submission requirements in order for one’s entry to even be considered by the US Government in the Visa Lottery. USA Green Card knows that even one small mistake can completely disqualify a person from participating in the US Immigration Lottery. When filling out an application, it becomes imperative that the applicant complete every part of the application and it must be done impeccably. In fact, many individuals take advantage of the services offered by USA Green Card so that they can receive professional and expert assistance with the tedious process of filling out the registration form correctly.

USA Green Card knows that filling out the application correctly is only half the battle. The applicant will also have to submit a photograph (or multiple photos if the applicant is married and/or has children). If the photographs are not prepared according to very stringent photo regulations, again the individual’s Visa Lottery application becomes ineligible. While the photo by no means needs to be fancy, it still must be precisely what the US immigration department demands. Further, if more than one person is applying for the lottery (like a large family), every single member of the family will be required to submit the appropriate photograph along with their perfectly completed applications.

Will you need help to guarantee that (1) you qualify to participate in the Green Card Lottery, (2) your registration information is submitted correctly, and (3) your lottery photographs satisfy all the formatting requirements? If your answer to any of these questions is 'yes,' then you should seriously consider using the services of USA Green Card. The first step to take is to complete the online application. The instructions for completion of the photo requirement will be sent to you immediately after you complete the online registration! Good luck!

Green Card: A Ticket to the Land of Opportunity

You have heard it so many times before: the United States is the country where people are free and dreams are fulfilled. You have further longed to be part of that world: a place where you can be independent, free, work, and pursue your desires. You seek happiness in a land that promises to allow you to achieve all you have ever dreamed. Now, you are considering Visa Lottery opportunities as a way to get through US immigration and into the states. And why not? Green Card Lottery opportunities, while certainly limited, are a legal and fast way to get into the United States and begin your life anew.

If you are looking to transform your dream about living in America into reality, you will need to know all the ins and outs of the US Visa Lottery process. You will also have to manage each part of the process carefully. Once you master the regulations, you will be able to work around the red tape that keeps your dreams of being in America at a distance. Further, knowledge is power: the more you know about the DV Lottery process, the better off you will be: you will be able to identify any issues that may disqualify you and hopefully find a resolution to such difficulties.

If you are planning to get in on the US Diversity Visa Lottery opportunities in the future, you will need to begin preparing yourself for the process. The number of applications is on the rise but there has been no rise in the number of Green Card Lottery applications that are being accepted. Currently, only 50,000 of all applications are accepted and processed every year; that's a miniscule figure compared to the number of applications sent into US immigration.

Be prepared to fill out a detailed application. You will need to provide the US Department of Immigration with all the information that is requested, including your educational background, your work background, and your marital status. You will also have to supply an appropriate photograph with your Visa Lottery application.

The US Immigration Department has made the application process somewhat simpler by providing people with a way to fill out an application electronically. Nevertheless, if requirements are not met, filling out the application will be to no avail. Many, many applications are disregarded, simply because they have not been filled out appropriately. Don't let this happen to you: if you meet regional eligibility requirements and you do not live in an area that restricts your participation, you can then move on to the difficult step of filling out your application. Professional assistance, like the assistance offered by USA Green Card is advised in this regard: to be disqualified simply because your application was inadequately handled can be a heartbreaking experience. Indeed, America is the land of great opportunities: the DV Lottery is one way of getting access to such opportunities. Still, if the applicant is not completely careful with their application and photo submission, a great opportunity may slip right through their fingers.

Qualifying for the Green Card Lottery

If you live outside of America, did you know that you have 55,000 chances to get into the United States? The US Immigration Department offers such a chance through an annual DV Lottery. This is a singular opportunity: no other region in the world gives away so many chances to enter their country. Imagine simply getting an opportunity to get into America because you meet the correct eligibility requirements!

How can you pass up on DV Lottery opportunities when such opportunities are few and far between? The United States is always looking to diversify its population and they openly extend Green Card Lottery opportunities to qualified individuals looking to move to America. Yet, just because the United States makes such an offer, don't fool yourself into believing that it is a simple process. Indeed, you can fill out a Visa Lottery application online, but if you make a single error, you lose: your application will be disregarded. While such a statement may seem harsh it is true: since the US Immigration Department receives millions of applications every year the department tends to move through the application process quickly.

How does the US Immigration Department review the millions of applications that they receive? The easiest way to weed out applications begins with determining eligibility. If the applicant lives in a country that has been deemed ineligible to participate, the application is disregarded. Next, the department reviews each application and everything must be answered, otherwise, again, the application is disqualified.

Everyone that registers to participate in the Green Card Lottery is required to submit one photo of him or her self. If more than one family member is applying, they will also be required to submit a separate photo. One photo is required for every family member included on the registration form. Each photo must conform to very strict format requirements before the US Immigration Department will authorize the registration to be included in the US Visa Lottery program.

It is true that the DV Lottery is a gamble, but there is no need to make the process a bigger gamble than it already is. You can maximize your chances of winning the Green Card Lottery if you abide by all restrictions and meet the demands set forth by US Immigration. Errors that happen are unfortunately common. Many individuals, especially those that do not have English as their first language will inadvertently make a mistake on their DV Lottery application: a costly mistake because they will lose out on a great opportunity.

When filling out the DV lottery application many questions may arise. This is where professional Visa Lottery application assistance from USA Green Card is vital. Suppose questions arise pertaining to an applicant's eligibility to participate, the application process, or the photo requirements? All questions and concerns can be addressed by our professional team. USA Green Card makes certain that every aspect of your Green Card Lottery application is completed correctly and submitted with a maximal opportunity for success. It is far better to have a knowledgable, professional from USA Green Card available to assist in matters concerning the Diversity Visa Lottery process.

You can learn more about eligibility requirements and photograph requirements on the USA Green Card website. You can also begin your online registration by completing the online application form. Good luck with your American Immigration dreams!

The Ins and Outs of Getting your Green Card

Let's face it: getting a green card is not necessarily an easy process. While there are a number of ways to deal with US Immigration and to get a green card, each process holds its set of drawbacks. The primary ways to get a green card include getting an employer that will sponsor you for a green card, legally marrying a citizen of the United States of America, and finally, the simplest of all measures, taking your chances in the US Immigration's annual Green Card Lottery.

While you may get lucky and find an employer that will sponsor you so that you can immigrate to America, the chances are slim. US employers often find that it is easier to hire workers that are already in the United States. Now, unless you plan on marrying an American citizen anytime soon, your best opportunity is to enter the Green Card Lottery (also called the Diversity Visa Lottery, or US Immigration Lottery). On that note: it is never advisable to marry someone simply to immigrate to another country! Unless you are marrying for love, you shouldn't get married at all: not to mention that to marry simply for immigration purposes risks imprisonment or deportation.

If you take advantage of Green Card Lottery opportunities and you meet all requirements, the ratio of success is approximately 1:70. That means that one out of every 70 people that enter into the lottery actually get a green card or visa. Now, to actually become one of the 70 people eligible in each ratio is another thing entirely.

What kind of requirements does the US Immigration Department demand in order for an individual to be considered eligible for Visa Lottery participation? Primarily, the US Immigration Department is concerned with and views a number of different factors. The department will look at your application and review it to see if you live in a country that is considered eligible to participate; many countries are restricted from participation. The department will review your application for inconsistencies and errors and they will also see if it lacks the information they demand: if so, you will be disqualified. The department will review your educational history and you will have to meet minimum education guidelines. If you do not satisfy the minimum education level required to participate in the Green Card Lottery program, the US Immigration Department will consider your work history. Finally, your marital status is reviewed and the photos submitted with your application are also carefully assessed to guarantee that they meet specific requirements.

Considering all that the US Immigration Department demands, the Green Card Lottery can seem like a lengthy ordeal and a daunting task. People that do not speak English as their first language often find that task a bit threatening, fearing that they will fail to fill out the application correctly. Fearful that they will neglect a crucial part of the application, some individuals avoid making the attempt at all. Nevertheless, just because one is not sure about their ability to use the English language, it in no way means that they should avoid the opportunity to participate. Professionals from USA Green Card are prepared to help people fill out their applications correctly and to answer any questions one may have about the Visa Lottery process.

To get started with the wonderful opportunity provided through the Green Card Lottery, complete your online registration today!

The Proper Way to Apply for your Green Card

Imagine that you have decided to enter the Green Card Lottery and you have the application before you. What would you do if you come across a part of the application that you don't understand? What do you do if your first language is not English and you find the all-important application confusing or incomprehensible? How will you know if your application and your photo are acceptable? You will need to get the help of Green Card Lottery application professionals like those at USA Green Card.

There are number of details that will have to be attended to when it comes time to fill in the green card application. Further, the US Immigration Department is no longer accepting any paper DV Lottery entries. Applications are filed electronically and they will have to be completed before the Visa Lottery deadline established by US Immigration.

Meanwhile, the photograph submitted by applicants must meet a number of requirements. When submitting a photo for a Green Card Lottery entry, you are going to need to make sure that the photo is absolutely perfect: otherwise your application may be rejected. For instance, your face cannot be turned to the left or to the right, but it should be facing directly to the front when the picture is taken. Also, your head should not be tilted back or forward. In addition, the picture must not cut off your image abruptly: there needs to be a decent amount of space between one's face and the edge of the photo.

The size of the photograph taken matters a great deal because you will be uploading the image electronically. The size should be 4 x 4 inches (or 10 x 10 cm) and digital submissions must have a resolution of 600 x 600 pixels. Photos that are over-pixilated or photos that are under-pixilated will not be considered by US Immigration. Additionally, you will find that all photos must be in a specific format: JPEG only. Meanwhile: the more applicants within a family that apply, the more photos that will need to be taken. You cannot take a single photo of the entire family, as it would be impossible to create a green card in the event that you should be selected in the Green Card Lottery for entry into the United States.

It is highly advised that when getting your picture taken for your Green Card Lottery application that you just wear clean, everyday attire. It is not recommended that individuals wear military attire, work uniforms, or anything other than casual clothing. Also, don't submit a photo that was taken earlier and has remained in a photo album containing your favorite pictures from your latest adventures! This photo must be taken specifically for the US Immigration Department's review. Photos are expected to be plain with no vivid backgrounds or other distracting objects.

You must also have your eyes visible in the photograph taken. If you are wearing sunglasses, tinted glasses, or if you accidentally have your eyes closed, the picture will be unusable for the purpose of a Green Card Lottery submission. Color contacts must not be worn when taking your image. Hats are also forbidden. The US Immigration Department needs a clear image of what you look like with no frills: after all, if you are accepted in the Visa Lottery, your photo will be used on the green card for identification purposes.

Understanding the Green Card Lottery

The Permanent Diversity Program was first established in 1990 by the US Immigration Department in an effort to increase the diversity in American culture; this measure was enacted by George W. Bush and is now known as Section 203 of the Immigration Act. Now, each year 50,000 lucky applicants gain entry into the United States. Commonly referred to as the Green Card Lottery, the Visa Lottery, or the DV Lottery, the program allows applicants to apply for entry into the United States. Those accepted into the drawing get a chance to win the opportunity to move to the United States.

The competition for DV Lottery entry positions is fierce. Millions of people put in applications electronically for a chance to win the DV Lottery. Yet, only about 100,000 entries are accepted and only 55,000 of these actually win on an annual basis. Breaking it down even further, out of all individuals that try to get into America via the Visa Lottery entry, 1 out of every 70 people pass the rigorous expectations of US Immigration.

It is true that in any lottery you will need a little luck on your side if you hope to be one of the winners. While there is certainly an aspect of luck that comes into play when entering the DV Lottery, there are also certain measures that are quite controllable. Indeed, the Visa Lottery is a matter of random selection—that is, out of the millions of applications reviewed, only 100,000 submissions are entered and only 55,000 entries will win. The key to winning is first found in becoming one of the 100,000 people that are actually considered for entry at all.

The best way to ensure that you really have a solid chance at winning the Green Card Lottery is to submit a perfect application and photo. Professional services offered at USA Green Card are readily available: there are people trained to analyze your application and photo submissions before you make your electronic submission. If your application is completed properly, your eligibility requirements are verified, and your submitted photo(s) are validated, and you meet the deadline set by US Immigration, you clearly improve your chances of winning. Once your submission has been accepted for the lottery drawing, you will be given a computerized number. The number provided is later selected randomly. Winners are notified by the Diversity Visa Lottery processing center, known as the Kentucky Consular Center, or KCC.

It is imperative that every individual consider their application and photo submission as incredibly important documents: requirements that demand the utmost attention to detail. Much like applying for a job or for entry into a university, the electronic submissions must be able to speak for the individual applying. Spelling errors, blanks, and inadequate information on visa lottery applications are a major reason why many people do not even get into the lottery. Meanwhile, an important second reason why many people do not get a chance to win the Green Card Lottery is improper photo submissions. Essentially, the application and photo submitted are much like resumes: they must meet submission requirements and adhere to specific formats.

USA Green Card specializes in the professional review and preparation of registrations for the annual Green Card Lottery program. Let us work with you to guarantee that your participation in the program is successful. All registrations submitted through us are carefully and meticulously reviewed. If any errors are found, you are notified, and we work with you until all registration items are perfected.

Green Card Lottery & US Immigration Terminology

The Green Card Lottery and U.S. immigration can be confusing. Many obscure terms are used to describe various aspects of the visa registration and visa application processes. GREEN CARD

VISA
Every citizen of a foreign country, wishing to enter the U.S. must obtain a visa (either a nonimmigrant visa for a temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence). A U.S. visa is a permit issued by a U.S. embassy or consulate that gives the visa holder permission to enter the United States.

The DV Lottery makes 55,000 immigrant visas available through a yearly lottery. When you receive your visa through the Diversity Visa Lottery Program you and your family are authorized to live and work permanently in the United States.

The DV Lottery is the same program as the annual Green Card Lottery. This program grants permanent visas to live and work in the United States to people who satisfy minimum education and/or work requirements. No employer or family sponsorship is required to participate and win the DV Lottery.

USCIS.GOV

KENTUCKY CONSULAR CENTER (KCC)
The Diversity Lottery program is an annual lottery run by the U.S. Department of State. The DV Lottery offers up to 55,000 permanent resident visas each year to randomly selected applicants from eligible countries. The Visa Lottery is run once a year, usually in October, and qualified applicants are randomly chosen by computer. The program is administered directly from the U.S. Department of State Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) in Williamsburg, Kentucky. The Kentucky center was established in the year 2000 by the U.S. Department of State to take over administration of the Diversity Visa Lottery program from the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. KCC has continued the excellent tradition of quality service to all applicants of the DV Lottery program.

U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT
The United States Department of State is the official overseer of the annual Diversity Visa Lottery program. This department has ultimate authority to grant U.S. visas to the winners of the Green Card Lottery program.

GREEN CARD APPLICATION
A green card application is a formal request for a United States Visa or "green card."

APPLICANT
An applicant is the foreign citizen making a formal request for a visa (nonimmigrant or immigrant) or a green card.

US Immigration: Increasing Your Chances of Success

When it comes time to prepare your Green Card Lottery application, you can never be too careful or overly concerned with perfection. Remember, the Green Card Lottery is a fantastic opportunity, but it is one that will require that your application meet all standards of the US Immigration Department. Every question must be answered honestly and clearly. This can become a considerable problem for those individuals that do not have English as their first language.

In contrast, even if someone has mastered the English language, it is completely possible to miss critical information or overlook something during the application process. Applicants are human and therefore prone to human error: such an error can be costly, costing the applicant an opportunity to participate in the Green Card Lottery. Thus, it is far better to get professional assistance from USA Green Card when filling out a Green Card Lottery application.

There is no reason to have your application disqualified because it has not been completed correctly. Professionals from USA Green Card are trained in US Immigration expectations and they know how to assess your application for issues or problems. They can closely review your Visa Lottery application to see if you have filled in all of the information required and notify you if your application is missing critical information. A close review of your application may also reveal eligibility issues that will need to be addressed before the final submission of your application to the Visa Lottery.

The photo(s) you submit with your DV Lottery application are equally important. Again, USA Green Card professionals can assist you in this arena: they can assess your selected photograph(s) for any potential problems. There are a number of considerations that need to be addressed when it comes to your photo submission, and you will need to ask yourself the following questions:

  • Is your photograph the correct size?
  • Does your photograph have the correct background?
  • Are you wearing the appropriate attire?
  • Has the image been cropped correctly?
  • Is your photo in the correct digital format?
  • Are you the only subject in the image?
  • Does your photo have the proper amount of pixilation?

What happens if you don't completely understand the application and photo guidelines? It certainly doesn't mean you have to be left out in the cold. There are services available that can ensure that your application is correct and that you meet US Immigration guidelines in terms of photo submission. So many people lose out on the chance to win at the Green Card Lottery because they lack the knowledge they need to complete their submission correctly.

The Green Card Lottery only happens once a year. Every year the regulations change and such changes may actually affect your eligibility. Don't be one of the many people that are disqualified simply because your application is deemed unacceptable—you may not have another chance to participate in the Visa Lottery if new changes are implemented that affect your eligibility to participate.

USA Green Card is ready to help you overcome all of these obstacles. You need not fear all the rules, eligibility requirements, photo regulations, and complicated submission details when you trust us to professionally prepare, review, submit, and track your registration in the DV Lottery.

US Visa Lottery Tips

Are you looking for ways to increase your chances of winning the Green Card Lottery? Do you need some tips and guidelines pertaining to your DV Lottery entry? While the odds of winning the lottery are 1 in 70, the odds of getting into the lottery are even higher. Why? Millions of people have applied for entry into the DV Lottery every year since the Visa Lottery was enacted. Because the minimum number of entries is 100,000 people, this means that the competition is pretty high. Only a lucky 55,000 will gain entry into the United States this year.

If your entry doesn't meet the guidelines established by the US Immigration Department you are pretty much out of luck. If you can't get into America via the DV Lottery, your only other opportunity is through marriage or through employer endorsement. Thus, your chances are considerably narrowed.

A few tips can get you closer to gaining entry into America via the Green Card Lottery system. First, it is recommended that you seek professional services from USA Green Card that will assist you with every step of the Visa Lottery application process. Since the application is a critical and important part of being eligible for the US Visa Lottery at all, it is a good idea to work with professionals from USA Green Card: people that know what is expected of an applicant.

When it comes time to fill out the application, it will have to be done electronically. For those individuals that aren't computer savvy, this can prove to be disastrous. What if you don't fill out the application, as you should? What if you can't figure out how to submit the proper photos? New Fees for Immigrant and Diversity Visa Applications

Beginning March 8, 2005, all applicants for immigrant or diversity visas must pay a new surcharge of $45 US Dollars per application.

Applicants for Diversity Immigrant Visas must also pay a Diversity Visa Lottery surcharge of $375 US Dollars per applications. This is an increase to the existing fee, which was $100 US Dollars.

These new surcharges are in addition to the existing visa application fees of $335 US Dollars per application.

The Immigrant Visa surcharge was established to support the costs of enhanced border security. The Department of State is carrying out a multi-year effort to increase border security by strengthening the security of the immigrant visa adjudication process and the physical costs on the Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs. The effort to enhance immigrant visa services includes migration of the immigrant visa to a machine-readable format using a secure visa foil and implementation of digital photo and electronic fingerprint collection as required by recent legislative mandates.

The Diversity Visa Lottery surcharge is intended to recover the costs of the Diversity Visa program. It is paid only by those who are selected through the lottery process and apply for a visa. The fee is being raised to cover all costs of the program so the government, and ultimately the taxpayers, do not subsidize this program. Section 636 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, Public Law 104-208, 110 Stat. 3009703-704 (Sept. 30, 1996) authorizes establishment of a diversity visa application fee to recover the full costs of the visa lottery conducted pursuant to Sections 203 and 222 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

The new fees were authorized by Congress in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2005, (P.L. 108-447).

The Rights and Duties of the Green Card

When you register to participate in the Green Card Lottery, the goal is to get a Green Card. But the term "Green Card" really means "legal permanent residence" in the United States. When you are successful in the Green Card Lottery, you will receive a Green Card (or legal permanent residence) and with that status comes many rights and responsibilities.

Becoming a permanent resident of the United States will have a remarkable effect on your legal rights in the United States. Lawful permanent residents (LPRs) are entitled to many new rights and privileges. Lawful permanent residents (LPRs) are also required to comply with some very basic duties and obligations. The intention of this page is to provide you with a quick overview of these rights and duties so that you can begin to understand the meaning of your status as a Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States.

YOUR GREEN CARD WILL ALLOW YOU TO:

  • REMAIN IN THE UNITED STATES INDEFINATELY WITH A GREEN CARD.
  • WORK ANY JOB FOR WHICH YOU QUALIFY AND CAN OBTAIN.
  • START YOUR OWN BUSINESS.
  • TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES.
  • FILE FOR US CITIZENSHIP AND BECOME A UNITED STATES CITIZEN.

I. RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES ENJOYED BY LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENTS

A. THE RIGHT TO REMAIN IN THE UNITED STATES PERMANENTLY
Another major benefit you now enjoy as a Lawful Permanent Resident is the ability to remain in the United States indefinitely, assuming that you remain law-abiding.

B. THE RIGHT TO BECOME A U.S. CITIZEN
You are eligible to apply for American citizenship once you have been a Lawful Permanent Resident for five years, or three years, if married to and cohabiting with a U.S. citizen for three years after obtaining your Lawful Permanent Resident status.

C. THE RIGHT, IN GENERAL, TO TRAVEL ABROAD FREELY WITHOUT THE NEED TO OBTAIN A VISA TO RETURN TO THE U.S.
As a Lawful Permanent Resident your Green Card can be used as travel document. Provided you do not remain abroad for more than one year, you will be able to re-enter the United States by merely presenting your Green Card to the immigration authorities.

D. THE RIGHT TO FILE IMMIGRANT PETITIONS FOR RELATIVES
One of the most important benefits you have as a Lawful Permanent Resident is the right to petition for certain relatives, your spouse and unmarried children of any age. (This means that you can file an application with the US Government to grant your relatives US visas.) You may file a petition for an eligible relative as soon as you have been approved for permanent residence. A successful petition entitles the relative to enter the United States as a Lawful Permanent Resident LPR, the same legal status as you. (When you become a citizen, you will be entitled to petition for your parents, married children, and brothers and sisters).

E. THE RIGHT TO MORE PROTECTION AGAINST DEPORTATION THAN NON-LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENTS
When deportation proceedings are initiated against a Lawful Permanent Resident, that individual has more alternative grounds for relief from deportation than does a non-Lawful Permanent Resident.

F. THE RIGHT TO CERTAIN PRIVATE-SECTOR BENEFITS
Some employers and private-sector institutions may give you preferential treatment because you are a Lawful Permanent Resident. Some employers may legally discriminate against non-Lawful Permanent Residents, thus being a Lawful Permanent Resident is advantageous.

G. THE RIGHT TO SOCIAL SECURITY
If you do not already have one, you may obtain a Social Security Card as soon as you receive your Lawful Permanent Resident status. You should have the following documents with you: passport and proof of Lawful Permanent Resident status.

II. THE OBLIGTIONS AND RESTRICTIONS FACING AN LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT

LOSS OF LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS COULD OCCUR IF:

  • You are convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude or other serious offenses. (Minor drug offenses may result in loss of Lawful Permanent Resident status as well.)
  • You separate from the spouse or employer who petitioned for you shortly after obtaining your status.
  • It is determined that you were ineligible for Lawful Permanent Resident status at the time of receiving it.
  • You accept a permanent job abroad.
  • You stay outside the U.S. for more than one year without a valid Re-Entry Permit.
  • You abandon your residence in the United States.
  • You fail to register for Selective Service. (Men age 18 to 26 are required to register for Selective Service within thirty days of their eighteenth birthday.)
  • You fail to pay your taxes. (You must pay U.S. income taxes on all your worldwide income. If you were previously in the U.S. on a temporary work visa, only your U.S. income tax is subject to taxation. You should begin to pay taxes as a U.S. resident, filing a return with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) no later than April 15 the year after you become a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR). Failure to do so could result in a finding that you have abandoned your LPR status, even if you legitimately file as a non-resident).
  • You encourage, induce, assist, abate, or aid any other alien to enter or to try to enter the United States in violation of law.
  • You procured a visa or other documentation by fraud.
  • You are engaged in or have engaged in terrorist activities.
  • You become a public charge from causes not affirmatively shown to have arisen since entry within five years after the date of entry.
  • You vote in violation of any federal, state, or local constitutional provision, statute, ordinance, or regulation.

How do I satisfy the photograph requirements for the Green Card Lottery?

The Government of the United States of America officially organizes the Green Card Lottery, which is also known as the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program or the Diversity Visa Lottery Program. Under the Immigration Act of 1990, the Green Card Lottery Program is conducted to help citizens of countries that are underrepresented in the US population to get the legal right to live and work in the U.S.A. Every year a maximum of 55,000 diversity immigrant visas (or “green cards”) are issued to nationals from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.

The Department of State initiated an electronic registration system to make the selection process safe and secure. Winners of the Diversity Visa Lottery Program are selected by a computer-generated random lottery drawing. It is one of the easiest and fastest ways of getting a green card, provided that you meet the conditions to participate. In order to apply for the U.S. Green Card Lottery Program, you should satisfy the following green card requirements.

  • Every year a list of qualifying countries is prepared for the annual DV program. You must be a national of one of the countries that are eligible to participate in the Green Card Lottery Program.
  • You must have completed an equivalent of a U.S. high school education, which is a 12-year course of elementary and secondary education.
  • If you do not satisfy the education requirement, you can still qualify if you have an appropriate work background. You are eligible to apply for the U.S. Green Card Lottery Program, if you have had a minimum of two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform.
  • You must submit a recent photograph of yourself, your spouse, and all children less than 21 years of age together with your application form.

Green Card Lottery photos are considered one of the most important components of your application. Your application will be disqualified if your photographs do not meet the Green Card Lottery requirements. Your entry will also be disqualified if you do not submit the required visa photos. You should submit your photographs along with the Electronic Diversity Visa (E-DV) Entry Form.

Your application will also be disqualified if you do not meet the necessary green card requirements or if you manipulate the picture images incorrectly. For a successful entry, make sure that your Green Card Lottery photos strictly adhere to the photograph guidelines stipulated by the U.S. Department of State. You can either take a new photograph or scan an existing photograph and submit it along with your application. These visa photos should meet specific compositional and technical specifications. Any deviation from the green card lottery photo requirements will lead to disqualification.

Given below are the instructions you need to follow before submitting your digital photographs:

Compositional Specifications:

  • The person being photographed should face the camera directly. The head should not be tilted up or down or turned to the side.
  • The photograph has to be taken in such a way that the head of the person covers 50% of the area of the photograph.
  • The person being photographed should be placed in front of a neutral, light-colored background. Visa photos taken with very dark or patterned backgrounds will be disqualified.
  • The face of the person should be in clear focus.
  • Green Card Lottery photos with a person wearing sunglasses or other items that hide the face will not be accepted.
  • Visa photos of a person wearing a hat or other head covering are only acceptable if he or she wears it as a part of religious custom. Otherwise, photographs of applicants wearing hats, caps, or other headgear will be rejected.

Technical Specifications:

  • Green Card Lottery photos must be saved in Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) format.
  • The maximum image size that can be accepted is 240 Kb.
  • Visa photos should be in color with a 24-bit image color depth. Black-and-white, monochrome, or grayscale images will not be accepted.
  • Green Card Lottery photos must be have a resolution of 600 x 600 pixels. If you are planning to scan an existing photograph, it should meet the above mentioned compositional and technical specifications. In addition to these stipulated standards, please make sure that the images are scanned at a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch (dpi).

If your photographs do not satisfy the compositional and technical specifications, then your Diversity Visa Lottery Program Application will be rejected. In order to avoid disqualification, you can seek professional help from USA Green Card. It is the leading worldwide organization with a dedicated team that helps in preparing, processing, and submitting Green Card Lottery applications.

What are the advantages of using a paid service to register for the Green Card Lottery?

The Green Card Lottery Program or Diversity Visa Lottery is a U.S. Congress-approved program that is annually administered by the U.S. Department of State. Based on the Immigration Act of 1990, the U.S. Government provides more than 50,000 visas every year to people categorized as “diversity immigrants” who are from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the U.S.A. Visas are distributed among six geographic regions with a maximum percentage allotted to each country. Participating in Diversity Visa Lottery Program is the simplest and fastest means of getting a green card, provided you fulfill all the eligibility criteria. Applicants must submit their Electronic Diversity Visa (E-DV) Entry Forms to the U.S. Department of State during the registration period specified for that particular annual DV program. The application has to be duly completed with all the required information. If you want to participate in Green Card Lottery Program, you need to provide details like:

  • Your full name including your last/family name, first name, and middle name.
  • Your date of birth.
  • Your gender.
  • The city/town and the country where you were born.
  • The country of eligibility or chargeability for the DV program.
  • Your mailing address, with city/town, district/province/state, country, and postal/zip code.
  • Country of current residence.
  • Your marital status and complete information about your spouse and children who are less than 21 years old.

Apart from providing this basic information, there are many other guidelines and criteria stipulated by the US Department of State that must be followed strictly in order to guarantee that your application is accepted in the US Visa Lottery. Any violation will lead to the disqualification of your Green Card Lottery Application.

Why Use a Paid Service?

As noted above, most of the participants of Diversity Visa Lottery Program are from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States. In some countries, English may not be a part of the standard educational curriculum and applicants from these countries may find it very difficult to understand the instructions and guidelines for the Green Card Lottery, which are published in English only. The Green Card Lottery Application will be disqualified if even only one mistake is made while preparing the form. in order to overcome this hurdle, applicants with less than perfect English skills can opt for a paid service to prepare the Green Card Lottery Application Form.

Choosing the Right Service:

Today, there are dozens of websites to help you with your Green Card Lottery application process. When selecting a green card lottery paid service provider, you need to be very careful. Most websites are blatantly fraudulent that simply take your money and never prepare any application for you. Most of the fraudulent sites are located outside of the United States, where they are safe from the reach of US legal authorities. So the first thing you should look for is a guarantee that the service is physically located in the United States. Also look for a service that has been in business for a long time. There are many fly-by-night services that open up shop for just a few months at a time, take your money, then close down. Look for a service that can prove its stability and history.

What are the Requirements for the Green Card Lottery?

The U.S.A. Green Card Lottery, also known as the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program or the Diversity Visa Lottery Program, is an official program conducted by the Government of the United States. This program, which was authorized by the US Congress, issues legal green cards (American visas) each year through a lottery system. For the benefit of countries that are underrepresented in the US population, the US Department of State issues a maximum of 55,000 green cards every year to “diversity immigrants,” who are natives of countries with a low immigration rate to the United States. If you receive a visa through the Green Card Lottery Program, you, your spouse, and your unmarried children under the age of 21 will get the chance to permanently reside and work in the U.S. In order to be a part of the Diversity Visa Lottery Program, you need to fulfill certain criteria stipulated by the US Government. So, read on to learn about the eligibility and other Green Card Lottery requirements to enroll in this program.

Qualifying Countries

You must be a native of a country with a low immigration rate to the United States. Your nativity is not determined on the basis of your citizenship or your current residence, but it is based on the country of your birth. Every year a list of countries is selected and the natives of those countries can apply for the Diversity Visa Lottery Program. This list, however, is not fixed and is subject to change from year-to-year.

There are two exceptions by which you may still be able to participate in the Green Card Lottery, even if you were born in one of the countries whose natives do not qualify. The exceptions to the rule are as follows:

  • If you are legally married and your spouse was born in a country whose natives are eligible, then you can claim your spouse’s country of birth as your own for the purposes of participating in the visa lottery.
  • If one of your parents was born in a qualifying country, then you can claim nativity in that country in order to participate in the visa lottery.

Education and Work Experience

You must also satisfy ONE of the two following DV Lottery requirements in order to qualify for the U.S. Green Card Lottery:

  • You must have successfully completed the equivalent of a U.S high school education, which is a 12-year course of elementary and secondary education. The duration of the course is not much of a concern as long as the course of study completed is equivalent to a high school education in the U.S.
  • In the past 5 years, you must have had a minimum of 2 years of work experience in an occupation that requires at least 2 years of training or experience to perform.

You must completely ensure that you fully meet the aforementioned DV Lottery requirements before you participate in the USA Green Card Lottery. Any format and/or content errors may lead to the disqualification of your application. For an error- and hassle-free process, you can trust the professional services offered by USA Green Card. You can register immediately to participate in this year’s Diversity Visa Lottery.

The current economic crisis has caused many problems, not only in the United States of America, but also in countries all over the world. One of the most devastating effects of this current economic crisis is the decrease in the number of employment opportunities. People have been laid off continuously, irrespective of whether they are employed by big firms or smaller ones. The condition has been no better in America with employment opportunities becoming scarcer. As a result, many immigrants and want-to-be immigrants are worried about U.S. job opportunities in this current economic crisis.

For all those immigrants who are in a doubt whether there are any U.S. job openings, the answer is – YES! Although employment opportunities in few sectors have been hit hard by the current economic crisis, there are many other sectors that are still going strong and providing a multitude of job openings. Education and teaching is yet another sector that continues to provide excellent employment opportunities during the current economic crisis. Some of the U.S. job opportunities available in this sector are jobs for education administrators, kindergarten teachers, middle school teachers, special education teachers, and more. Apart from these areas, many U.S. job opportunities are offered for therapists, counselors, librarians, social workers, air traffic controllers, and many more. In short, there is no lack of employment opportunities and U.S. job openings in America for those who wish to obtain a U.S. work permit.

When is the annual deadline for the Green Card Lottery and why should I consider registering early?

The permanent residence status given to any foreign national by the United States of America is known as the U.S.A. green card. This green card, or U.S. visa, will allow the immigrant to reside and work legally in the United States for as long as he/she wants. Also, the holder of the green card will be entitled to receive health, education, and other benefits. In an effort to diversify the U.S. population, the U.S. Department of State organizes a Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery every year. This program is also known as the Green Card Lottery since it allows the people of many foreign countries to obtain permanent residence status. Every year 55,000 U.S. immigration lottery visas are offered to many foreign nationals through this Green Card Lottery program.

If you wish to take part in the U.S. immigration lottery program, then the Green Card Lottery application form should be submitted to the appropriate government filing office before the Green Card Lottery deadline. Normally, the window period for submitting these Green Card Lottery application forms is very brief, lasting about one month. The window usually opens in October and the official Green Card Lottery deadline is usually in early December. The U.S. Government can change the exact timing of the lottery at any time. Therefore, it is imperative that you submit your Green Card Lottery application form as early as possible to avoid being caught off guard and out of the program. Green Card Lottery applications submitted after the Green Card Lottery deadline will not be eligible to participate in the current U.S. immigration lottery program.

Another reason to submit your form early is that the number of people who will apply to the annual U.S. Visa Lottery is expected to grow exponentially as the actual deadline draws closer; hence you are encouraged to submit your U.S. immigration lottery application form well before the Green Card Lottery deadline to get a head start on the visa application process. An early registration allows sufficient time to thoroughly review your application information, correct any mistakes, and identify and address any potential issues with your Green Card Lottery application.

If you wish to apply for the Green Card Lottery program through the tested and true help of a professional, you can trust that USA Green Card will offer you the best service. It is suggested that you submit your forms as soon as possible—even today! USA Green Card posts periodic suggested “apply-by” dates to encourage you to submit your application to the Visa Lottery as early as possible. This greatly helps with devoting the proper time and care to the preparation and review of your visa lottery application, thereby increasing the possibility of submitting your form to the US Department of State before the official Green Card Lottery deadline. Early registration also makes your Green Card Lottery application experience hassle-free. Your eligibility is verified, your information is reviewed, and you are notified if any errors are found—with plenty of time to make any corrections. The advantages to applying early are numerous. Definitely consider submitting your visa lottery application today to avoid the many problems that are possible when you apply at the last minute.

Is America Anti-Immigrant? How Can I Benefit from the Green Card Lottery?

One question invariably haunts the minds of foreign nationals who are aspiring to settle down in the United States of America: is America anti-immigrant? America’s anti-immigration policy is a thing of the past. An entry into the land of opportunity is not all that restricted these days, despite what the media portray and rampant rumors suggest. Since the twentieth century, America’s anti-immigration policy has weakened. In many aspects, the current U.S. immigration policy can be characterized as being quite immigrant-friendly.

Current-day U.S. immigration policy welcomes immigrants through many visa opportunities including the Green Card Lottery program. The large numbers of foreign nationals who have gained entry into America and have become U.S. citizens is proof of America’s continuing acceptance of immigrants from all faiths, races, cultures, nationalities, and walks of life. Many of these immigrants are skilled foreigners who make major contributors to America’s economy. But, the policy is still unbendable for those who hold a criminal background. If a foreign national has a criminal background or if he/she is involved in illegal activities, then immigration will be denied to that person. So, is America anti-immigrant? The answer is no, especially for skilled, law-abiding foreigners.

According to U.S. immigration policy, Lawful Permanent Residence or obtaining the USA green card is one of the channels through which any foreign national can become a legal resident of the United States of America. The U.S. Department of State conducts a Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) program or the Green Card Lottery every year. Through this Green Card Lottery program, the country provides 55,000 green cards to eligible foreign nationals.

Applying for the Diversity Immigrant Visa program (DV) is not simple, but the benefits of the Green Card Lottery are many. Winners of the Green Card Lottery can bring their families with them to the U.S. and are entitled to work and live in the United States of America. Green Card Lottery advantages include permanent residence permission, equal opportunity to be lawfully employed by any employer, and the ability to pursue education and health benefits. In short, Green Card Lottery benefits include almost all the same rights enjoyed by a full-fledged U.S. citizen. If your ultimate goal is to become a U.S. citizen, winners of the Green Card Lottery can eventually file a petition to do so.

If you obtain a U.S.A. green card, you can live and work anywhere throughout the 50 states and also enjoy the benefits of unbiased employment in the country. The winners of the Green Card Lottery can also apply for American citizenship after 5 years of their immigration into the country. The Green Card Lottery benefits also include the right to become the legal owner of any property such as housing, vehicles, etc. Finally, one of the most important Green Card Lottery benefits is that the green card holder can travel abroad as a permanent resident of the United States of America.

A word of caution for applicants: many Green Card Lottery applications are rejected every year because of errors on the form or incomplete information. This is where you will need an expert’s help. USA Green Card provides professional assistance with the Green Card Lottery application procedure. USA Green Card assures that your registration in the program complies 100% with the requirements of the U.S. Government in preparing and submitting your application. Beware of Fraudulent Emails and Telephone Calls!

USA Green Card receives hundreds of enquiries each year from people who say they have received an email or telephone call from someone who claims to be from the US State Department, the Kentucky Consular Center, or some other branch of the US Government. These email messages or telephone calls claim that the person has "won" the Green Card Lottery or been "selected" in the US Visa Lottery and asks the person to send a payment (usually by Western Union or by credit card) in order to receive the US visa. BEWARE OF THESE FRAUDULENT COMMUNICATIONS!

In many cases, the person receiving the fraudulent email or phone call is asked to send payment to the attention of a specific person who is located in a country outside of the United States or to give a credit card number over the telephone. Remember that if you do win the Green Card Lottery, you will receive your visa application documents in writing and by post. Any visa-related fees will usually be made in person at your local US Embassy or Consulate, or if the fee is to be sent by post, it will be made payable to the US Department of State. Under no circumstances will an official winner of the Diversity Visa Lottery program ever be instructed to make a payment to an individual or over the phone with a credit card.

Many of these scams also claim that the person has won free plane tickets together with their US visa. The US Government does not provide free airfare to winners of the Visa Lottery.

Additional red flags to look for when receiving such bogus notices are email addresses that are not in the "state.gov" or the "usa.gov" domains and contact telephone numbers that do not have US dialing prefixes.

The notices sent by scammers can be quite official looking. They often are very long and contain many confusing references to pin codes, visa types, winning numbers, etc. DO NOT BE FOOLED! True winning notices are not complicated and convey information very clearly. If you have any doubts about a "winning notice" you have received by email, or a telephone call you’ve received claiming that you are a winner of the US Visa Lottery, please $Link("ContactUs", "contact us"). Forward whatever information you have and we will gladly help you assess whether you are being targeted as a victim of fraud. For honest and accurate information concerning the Green Card Lottery, and for instructions on how to apply, please be sure to visit $WebSite.

Why are some countries not eligible to participate in the Green Card Lottery?

Every year thousands of people from all over the world migrate to the USA to study, work and to find a better livelihood. These immigrants can make use of the numerous visas made available by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Department. The most sought after visa among the immigration visas is the permanent residence visa or the green card visa. Those immigrants who meet the green card eligibility requirements are entitled to many green card benefits, which are almost equivalent to the benefits of a U.S. citizen with few major exceptions like the right to vote and the right to federal jobs.

In an effort to make more foreign nationals open to green card benefits, the U.S. diversity immigration program offers a maximum of 55,000 permanent residence visas to those who satisfy the green card eligibility requirements. This is called the annual diversity visa lottery program or the USA Green Card Lottery program. This Green Card Visa Lottery program enables 50,000 foreign nationals to become permanent US residents and entitles them to all the benefits of a green card. The remaining 5000 visas of the U.S.A. Green Card Lottery program are used based on the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA).

The U.S. Government offers one Green Card Visa Lottery to each of those individuals who meet the green card requirements on the basis of the Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Under this section, USA Green Card Lottery visas are made available to people who come from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. This USA Green Card Lottery program is open to six geographic regions, with special focus on countries that have lower rates of immigration. The green card eligibility conditions state that the green card visa will not be awarded to nationals who belong to countries that have sent a high number of immigrants to the United States of America in the past five years.

This is because the green card visa lottery program is aimed to offer green cards to people from countries that send fewer numbers of immigrants to America, hence advancing cultural diversity and giving a fair chance to the global community. The Green Card Lottery requirements state that no USA Green Card should be given to natives of “high-admission” countries. These high-admission countries are defined by those that have sent over 50,000 nationals to the US in the family-sponsored and employment-based visa categories in the past five years. Apart from this, there is another green card eligibility requirement for a nation, whereby no country would be given more than seven percent of the available green card visas in one year.

The Green Card Lottery recipients who are entitled to the green card benefits are selected randomly by a computer-generated drawing system that follows all the green card requirements.

An important thing to be noted is that applying for the Green Card Lottery is a very demanding process, because any error in the application form or the photographs will lead to rejection. This is where you will need help from experts like USA Green Card, who will take you through the entire application process with ease. USA Green Card will offer guidance in filling your application form without mistakes and will provide invaluable help in participating in the Green Card Lottery.

New U.S. program makes it possible for non-U.S. citizens to serve in the military.

The U.S. military services sign up about 8,000 foreign nationals annually and about 29,000 non-citizens serve in the U.S. military today. Non-citizen service members normally possess a State Department-issued green card that authorizes them to live and work in the United States.

In December 2008, the United States Department of Defense launched a year-long program to recruit about 1,000 non-U.S. citizen health care workers and language and cultural specialists for service in America's military. People sought for the program include doctors, nurses, other health care professionals and those proficient in certain foreign languages and associated cultures, according to a Department of Defense news release.

A spokesman for the Department of Defense noted that "there are tens of thousands of health professionals in the United States on a work visa who would be very interested in achieving green card status or, ultimately, citizenship." The pilot program provides successful applicants with a way to accelerate achievement of U.S. citizenship if "they're willing to serve in our time of need to fulfill a vital national interest."

Applicants for the program must be legal aliens who have lived in the U.S. for at least two years and must undergo security screenings and satisfy the same high standards required for every other person entering the military today.

If you do not qualify for military service under the requirements of the new pilot program, you will need a green card before you can sign up to serve on the U.S. Armed Forces. Consider applying for the annual green card lottery as a way of obtaining your green card. You can learn more about this program and register online at the USA Green Card website.

Is the Green Card Lottery program right for me?

Every year, thousands of foreign nationals flock to America to study, work, or settle down and make a living. Referred to as the land of opportunities, America promises a better livelihood for many foreigners who struggle to make ends meet in lesser developed nations. Getting an immigration visa is the only legal way to enter the United States of America. There are different immigrant visas thrown open to foreigners based on their needs. Of all the visas the Permanent Resident Card, also known as the Green Card, is the most important and the most beneficial. A Permanent Resident Card holder is entitled to enjoy all the rights of an American citizen, except the right to vote and to apply for federal jobs. Also, a Permanent Resident Card ensures easier and faster transition into American citizenship.

Following this, you must possess an educational qualification that is the equivalent of a high school education in America OR you should have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the last five years. If you do not meet these Green Card Lottery requirements, then the Green Card Lottery is not for you because you will be rejected straightaway.

The Green Card Lottery program also specifies that you should not be booked under any criminal activity, nor should you suffer from incurable diseases like HIV or Tuberculosis. If you do not have any criminal record, and if you do not suffer from any serious medical condition, then you stand a chance to win a Green Card Lottery. The Green Card Lottery program is an ideal choice for you if you want to bring your immediate family (spouse, children, and parents) to America and settle down. Every year, the U.S. Department of State conducts the U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, to enable 50,000 foreigners to get the Green Card.

Becoming a Green Card Lottery winner is not an easy task, and one has to satisfy strict requirements in order to get through the Green Card Lottery registration process. Thousands of foreigners apply for the Green Card Lottery program, out of which many are rejected for various reasons. A good start means the work is half done. Similarly the first step in the Green Card Lottery registration process is to submit the Electronic Diversity Visa entry form to the Department of State before the deadline.

Mere submission of the Electronic Diversity Visa entry form does not guarantee a green card. You should provide many details and documents that prove your eligibility to participate in the Green Card Lottery program. If your Electronic Diversity Visa entry form does not provide the required details, it will be rejected at the Green Card Lottery registration stage itself. To avoid this you will have to be extra careful in completing your application. Your form should be free from any errors and no vital document should be missing.

Since many applicants belong to under developed countries, they might not have good command over English. In such cases, it is better to approach one of the many authentic Green Card Lottery Services for professional guidance. However, the catch is to identify which of these Green Card Lottery Services are really authentic and which are not. The U.S. Department of State warns all applicants of fraudulent Green Card Lottery consultants, thanks to many scams that are making the rounds.

If you go online, you will be able to find a hoard of websites that claim to be Green Card Lottery consultants, most of which are not authentic. These fake Green Card Lottery Services offer false promises and rob your money without preparing or reviewing your application forms. One way to identify fraudulent Green Card Lottery organizations is that these services are located outside the United States so that they can escape from the clutches of the U.S. legal authorities. Hence, while looking for authentic Green Card Lottery services, you should ensure that they have a physical location within the United States of America. Also, it is suggested to approach consultants who are in this field for a long time now. This is because, there are many fraudulent businesses that open up offices in the U.S. for a few months, capture potential prey, rob their money, and close the business down. So, always look for stability and longevity of a Green Card Lottery consultant.

How does the Green Card Lottery compare against other US visa programs?

America is known to many as the land of great opportunities, and many foreigners are flocking the country to make use of all the opportunities available. America, being a super power, is the hub for many sectors and foreign nationals believe that they can find a better livelihood in the United States of America than in their own country. This belief has resulted in the increase in the number of applications for different U.S. Visa programs. The most common of these U.S. Visa programs include the H-1B Visa program, Waiver Visa program, Green Card Lottery program, Spouse visa program, and more. Obtaining a visa is the only legal way to immigrate into the United States.

Among all the U.S. visa programs available, the most popular and the most beneficial is the Green Card Lottery program. This is technically known as the Diversity Visa program and is held annually by the U.S. Department of State. Every year, 50,000 foreigners from lesser developed nations are selected randomly as the Green Card Lottery winners and are offered a Green Card, also known as the Permanent Resident Card. The main reason for the popularity of the Green Card Lottery program is the fact that the Permanent Resident Card holder will be entitled to all the rights enjoyed by an American citizen, except the right to vote and to apply for federal jobs. Hence, the winner of the Diversity Visa Lottery can bring his family into the U.S. and settle down by making use of all the opportunities available.

The next popular US Visa program is the H-1B Visa program. The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that enables US employers to appoint foreign workers in specialty jobs on a temporary basis. The regulation of the H-1B Visa program is that if the foreign employee is dismissed or wishes to quit, he/she must find another US employer, or apply for a change of status to another non-immigrant status, or must leave the US. Unlike the Permanent Resident Card, an H-1B visa cannot be used to stay in the US indefinitely nor can it be used to find a job other than a specialty job. This makes the Green Card Lottery program more preferable than the H-1B Visa program.

There is another U.S. Visa program that allows foreign nationals from developed countries with high-income economies to enter the US without the need for a visa. This program is called the Waiver Visa program, which was introduced in 1986 with an intention to increase tourism and short-term business visits to the United States of America. However, the foreign nationals eligible for the Waiver Visa program can stay in the United States only for 90 days for business or tourism purposes. Considering these conditions, the Diversity Visa Lottery program seems to be the most beneficial of all programs, because it allows the holder of the Permanent Resident Card to live and work in the U.S. relatively unrestricted.

No matter which visa program you opt for, getting a visa is a complicated process that involves strict rules and regulations. This applies for the Diversity Visa Lottery as well. A single mistake in the application form or missing critical documents will lead to immediate rejection. To avoid rejection, you can seek the services of consultants like $WebSite who help you in preparing your application form without any mistakes. $WebSite provides valuable information and suggestions with respect to the Green Card Lottery registration.

Who should consider participating in the US Visa Lottery?

The United States of America is what many would refer to the land of opportunities, thanks to the extensive resources available to make a decent living. It is this fact that drives many people to come to the United States and find greener pastures. To date, scores of foreigners have migrated into the country with hopes and dreams of finding a living for themselves and for their families. However, entering the U.S.A. is not a walk in the park, as State Department officials have imposed stringent laws and regulations to monitor the kind of foreigners who enter the country.

The first step to gaining an entry into America is to apply for an immigrant visa. Immigrant visas are available for different purposes and include work visas, education visas, dependent visas, marriage visas and more. Entering the U.S.A. with these immigrant visas does not entitle an immigrant all the rights of an American citizen. The closest thing for a foreigner to be an American citizen is to obtain a Lawful Permanent Resident Card, also known as the Green Card. The rights of a Permanent Resident Card holder are almost the same as an American citizen, except for the right to vote and to apply for federal jobs.

This is exactly why there has been a sudden rise in the number of people applying for the Permanent Resident Card. Also, the United States of America is looking to include people from varied cultural backgrounds in its population, in order to increase its diversity. For this purpose, the U.S. State Department had introduced a Green Card Lottery program to offer green cards to almost 50,000 foreigners every year. Participating in the Green Card Lottery program, in a broader sense, is open to almost anyone and everyone, provided the Green Card Lottery requirements are met.

Foreigners who are looking forward to become American Citizens and belonging to an eligible country can participate in the Green Card Lottery program. Another important factor to consider is that the applicants should not be criminals and should possess a clean background, in order to qualify for the green card process. Also, his/her intentions to enter the country must be true and legal, because if it is found otherwise during the green card interview, his/her application will be flatly rejected.

Foreign nationals participating in the Green Card Lottery program should not suffer from any serious medical condition and should not be addicted to drugs. These foreigners should have finished the equivalent of a U.S. high school education or possess a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the last five years. If anyone is found to be deviating from these requirements, they will not survive the green card interview and will not see the end of the green card process. For people who want to bring their immediate family members including spouse, children and parents, the Green Card Lottery program is the perfect option to do so. If you are looking to work and settle down with your family in the United States of America, it is time for you to enroll in the green card lottery.

$WebSite is an expert that offers expert guidance to find out whether you are eligible to participate in the U.S Diversity Visa Lottery program. Following this, USA Green Card will also equip you with information about what to expect at the green card interview. They employ professionals who will help you prepare, review and submit your application on time.
