The article above does not tell you it will take 12 to 20yrs to gain a green card, not including advertising 9months and labour certification my case 3yrs! before you actually can apply for a Green card then 1yrs+ waiting for a answer and priority date, then and only then do you get in the line and wait year after year, the current wait time for 3rd class visa for worker or extraordinary ability is 01 Agust 02, it was 01 August 02 back in Jan 2007!!!, so if your priority date is in Dec 06 just how much longer do you think the wait will be!.
If I knew then what I know now, before I bought a house and made a half life here!.
Waiting for a legal GC that allows me to work for anyone not just the Empolyer who has to renew the H-1B yearly!.
You really dig before you decide to commit your self to a Green card dream it could easily be a Nightmare!
The quota for green cards has not changed since 1990 yes around 20yrs!, its not likely to change anytime soon in this economic climate either.
Nothing worth having is easy, but it should be attainable.
Why are the waiting times not simple and generally made known from A to B and shrouded in secrecy and deceit.
